Ellena was born and raised in Suffolk, attending local state primary and secondary schools before going on to Durham University, where she gained a First-Class BSc degree in Psychology. After completing her studies, Ellena returned to the county she loves to work alongside James Cartlidge, MP for South Suffolk, where she has managed the team dealing with constituency matters.
In this role, Ellena has engaged with a full range of statutory bodies and private sector organisations across the county to solve problems and secure the best possible outcomes for constituents in South Suffolk.
Ellena has developed a particular interest in age-related social care, including supporting those living with dementia and other neurodegenerative conditions. This stems not only from her studies but also from several years of work in a local care home, which helped fund her path through university. She has a strong grasp of the issues relating to Suffolk’s ageing population, and this experience also demonstrates her willingness to work hard and get hands-on in pursuit of her beliefs.
In her spare time, Ellena enjoys the simple things Suffolk has to offer - walking the dog, attending local agricultural shows, and taking in the beauty of the coast and countryside. She is currently in the process of buying her first home and is therefore fully aware of the problems and frustrations this can cause for young people today.
Ellena was elected at Deputy Chair (Political) at the 2026 AGM.
