I have lived in Sudbury since 1990 and in Suffolk since 1953. I have been a widow since 2002, have a very supportive family with seven of my fifteen grandchildren living locally. In 2006 I retired from Primary Teaching and continued to teach in local schools until 2017. I have served the town as Mayor twice, which has been a great privilege and honour, because it has given me a terrific insight to the wonderful people in our town.
I will continue to listen to concerns, pass these on to the relevant departments authorities and speak for our citizens. I fully support free parking and will continue to fight for all that will benefit this fantastic town. One of my great concerns is the volume of heavy lorries that are causing structural damage to our beautiful buildings. I hope to encourage Suffolk County Council to install a stop light on Gainsborough street to enable the fire engines and ambulances to reach emergencies in the shortest time. I support the Quay Theatre and have served as a trustee for nine years. I am an enthusiastic member of St Gregory’s Church and Chairman of The Red House Retirement Home. I will do my utmost for this Town, Sudbury is a great town and I am so proud to live here.
