Having worked across the UK and in Africa, Mary has made her home base in Capel St Mary for the past 32 years. Working at a senior level in Public and Private Health Care she had to stand up and be accountable for what was right in the public arena. She was required to speak for those who had no opportunity to speak for themselves.
She volunteers with a Money Advice Service charity. She is keen to bring this sort of service to rural families who may be struggling with debt and benefits and where easy access to Ipswich is impossible.
She also is part of the Ipswich Town Pastor team, going out all night once or twice a month in an energised environment of the bars and clubs in the town and waterfront, enabling partygoers to be safe.
Mary became District Councillor for Stour Ward in May 2019.
