Honor, has lived in Great Cornard for 5 years and works as a Learning Support Assistant at Pot Kiln Primary School putting her at the centre of the community. In particular, she would like to improve facilities for young people in our community both through schools and local organisations.
Peter and Mark, who will be working alongside Honor have been active in Great Cornard for a number of years supporting local organisations and clubs. Currently, they are working to have a multi-story carpark built in the Sudbury area to help Great Cornard’s residents access their nearest town.
Together, Peter, Honor and Mark will provide the strong local representation our parish needs in delivering the opportunities available to us and dealing with the challenges facing our local area.
With support from Babergh District Council and other partners we would like to form a team of enforcement officers to combat the anti-social behaviour plaguing our community. We seek to address occurances of fly tipping, littering and dog mess. In particular we wish to focus on improper use of footpaths and roadways so that we can protect our green spaces and the environment for future generations.
There has been a number of significant housing developments in Great Cornard however our focus going forward will be to prioritise housing for vulnerable people. By addressing the need for more bungalows and accessible properties we hope to be able to support members of our community with additional needs or those simply wanting to downsize.
